Free vs paid PMP practice, when each one makes sense.
You have two weeks and a budget. What do you spend it on? Everyone will tell you their favorite tool. Here's a straight breakdown of what each category actually does.
Question dumps (free, shady).
Telegram channels and torrent sites post PDFs of "real" PMP questions. Most are 2 to 3 exam cycles out of date, wrong about the 2021 ECO rebalance, and sometimes just made up. Worse: if PMI catches you with material from a real exam, they revoke your certification. Use them if you understand the risk and want raw volume. Don't use them for content trust.
Pocket Prep (21 USD/mo).
Mobile-first, 1,500+ questions, cleanly categorized. Works offline. Weakness: explanations are short, and the 2026 ECO updates were slow to roll out (checked in April 2026, still mixed). Use it if you want a polished mobile experience and you're okay paying monthly for a year-long prep.
PMI Study Hall (120+ USD).
Official PMI, so the content matches the exam because the content comes from the exam authors. You get realistic question banks, practice exams, and a study plan. Downside: the UX is tired, the questions feel samey after a month, and the price tag assumes you're going to use it for 8 to 12 weeks straight.
Tutorials Dojo (15 to 30 USD, one-time).
Better known for AWS but has PMP. Best bang for buck if you want volume: a few thousand questions, lifetime access. Weakness: variance in question quality, and the UI is built for grinders.
Free bots (including us).
Free bots on Telegram mostly serve PDF dumps or ad-heavy quizzes. Our take: Cert Prep Platform is free for 5 questions a day, stays current with the 2026 ECO, and costs 9 EUR/mo for unlimited if you want more. Weakness: we're one person with 300 questions per cert. If you want 5,000 questions to grind, we're not yet that.
How to pick.
Honest recommendations by situation:
- Exam in 2 weeks, budget under 20 USD: Tutorials Dojo PMP pack, or Cert Prep Platform Pro for 9 EUR plus one Tutorials Dojo mock exam.
- Exam in 2 months, want structure: PMI Study Hall. It's the priciest but the most aligned to PMI's own framing.
- You forgot to prep and have a week: Pocket Prep daily mode, or Cert Prep Platform Pro with full mock exams (Ultra 19 EUR).
- You've prepped before and just need refresh: our free tier. 5 questions per day reminds you of what you forgot without overwhelming.
